How You Can Create Gorgeous Beach Waves With Your Flat Iron
Even if you’re nowhere near water and summer is long over, you can still rock beautiful beach waves. This hair style isn’t hard to achieve. All you need is a few simple products and a good flat iron to create this stylish look.
Start with clean, dry hair parted in your usual style. Plug in your flat iron and let it heat up. Before you begin the process, you should add a product that will protect your hair from the heat. You can use a heat protection spray, or you can get a more natural look with Argan oil. Stick with whatever has worked well with your hair in the past.
Next, take a small piece of your hair from the front of your head and position the flat iron part way down. Twist the hair around it slightly, but not all the way down. Pull it down as you go. Don’t hold the hair like you would with a curling iron. Once you’ve pulled it all the way down, you should be left with a beautiful loose looking curl. Don’t worry if the curl looks too tight. It’ll loosen up over time. Use your favorite hair spray or a curl defining spray to make sure you don’t lose your waves completely.
Move your way from the front to the back, alternating sides as you go. If you have thicker hair, you may want to pull some of your hair back with a hair tie or clip and pull out sections as you need them. Try to stick to the same general method you use when you straighten your hair. If you follow a routine you’re comfortable with, you’ll get better results.
Once you’ve successfully curled the top of a section of hair, you may want to curl the hair below it as well. This will give you more volume and a curlier overall look. If your hair is already very thick, or if you’re simply pressed for time, you can skip it. Follow the same method you’ve been using for the top sections, but be careful not to mess up your curls.
When you reach the back portion of your hair, you may want to use a second mirror to make sure you haven’t missed any pieces of hair. Simply hold the mirror up to the mirror you’re using and check out the back of your head in the reflection. Fix any mistakes that you spot.
After you’re done curling your hair, finish it off with a shine spray. Toss your hair gently with your fingers as you go, ensuring that no section of your hair is missed. You don’t need to use a lot of shine spray. Try to move quickly and just spray as you go.
If you follow these instructions, you’ll have perfect natural beach curls in no time! If you find that your curls are coming out frizzy or falling apart, you may want to try using different products. Experimenting will help you get the best results.
